Methods for Evaluating Potential Locations
Both qualitative and quantitative methods are available for evaluating and comparing potential site locations: These include the factor-rating system and the center-of-gravity methods, both of which are described here in detail, In, addition. there are forecasting models that use regression analysis to predict sales for front-of-the-house operations. (See Chapter 9 on forecasting.) Often, a combination of these methods is used so that management can evaluate sites from several perspectives.
